Standard grid layouts require cuts only at the very edges of the room. Diagonal, staggered, or complex geometric patterns require significantly more tiles to be cut (and partially wasted) to fit against straight walls.
Most tile boxes will list their "coverage area" in square feet on the packaging. Once you get your total square footage from our tile calculator, simply divide that number by the box's coverage area to know exactly how many boxes to buy.
